The first white settlers arrived in what is present day Washington County in the 1760's. Daniel Boone explored this area during his expeditions to Kentucky. His dogs were attacked by wolves near present day Abingdon. As a result, he called the Abingdon area, Wolf Hills. The site where he hid in a cave to escape the wolves is one block from Wolf Hills Inn. Wolf Hills Inn is owned and operated along with Abingdon Boarding House, next door, by Lawrence and Juanita Campany. The Inn was totally renovated in 2002, adding new bathrooms for each bedroom. Two of the rooms have private attached baths, while the other two have private baths, but require crossing the hall. Like Abingdon Boarding House, Wolf Hills Inn reflects the life style of today, while maintaining its original warmth and charm. Guests are offered a choice of four large bedrooms, each with high ceilings; hardwood floors; oriental rugs; antique furnishings and central heating and cooling. Each guest room has a television and a telephone. A fiber optic on-line connection is also available. A parking area which can accomodate even large vehicles is located behind the house. Guests are also treated to a full breakfast in the quaint, downstairs dining room. Each morning brings a new variety of fruits, juices, eggs, meats, breads and coffee. Your host is also open to special requests. Wolf Hills Inn provides comfort, charm and convenience. Our goal is to make your visit to Abingdon a special experience that you will remember forever. Wolf Hills Inn should also be considered as a wonderful option for those looking for longer term accomodations. A true home-away-from-home, the Inn can offer kitchen privileges, as well as, weekly or monthly rates. Contact the Innkeepers for more information. |
